The trade journal is free with any Retired Today account. No card, no trial, no "upgrade to keep your data". The paid product is the live signal feed at /pricing — the journal isn't going behind a wall.
Your log lives in a per-user file on the server, keyed to a hash of your email so the filename has no PII. Only your authenticated session can read or write it. No third-party trackers ever see your trade rows.
The Export CSV button gives you the whole log as a clean comma-separated file with cycle names. Take it to a spreadsheet, another tool, a backup folder. No vendor lock-in. We just hold the data for you.
The same journal is what we use to track our own four-coin perpetuals strategy. The fields, the cycles, the R-math, the share cards — we built them because we kept needing them. Eat-our-own-cooking, on the same surface as you.
Without R-multiples per trade, you cannot tell skill from luck. A 60% win rate with -2R losers is worse than a 45% win rate with +3R winners. The number on your account balance does not separate them; the journal does.
Five trades is a feeling. Thirty trades is a sample. A hundred trades is the smallest honest claim about a strategy. The log is what makes the difference between "I think I am profitable" and knowing it.
You will remember the win that made you feel smart and the loss that hurt the most. Both are unrepresentative. The log writes down every trade in the order it happened, so the curve you see is the one that actually exists.
Type the entry, the stop, the exit — the journal does the math the moment you tab away. No spreadsheet formula to maintain, no rounding errors, no "wait, was this -1.5 or -2R?". The unit that lets a $20 trade and a $2,000 trade live on the same scale.

We read the headers and auto-match them to RT fields — date, symbol, side, entry, stop, take-profit, exit, risk $, R, status, notes. Common header names work out of the box: open/entry/entry price all map to Entry; buy/long both become Long; closed loss/stopped out both become Loss; ISO and DD/MM/YYYY dates both work.
Free-form tags on every row — type a word, hit Enter, it becomes a pill. Use them for setups (breakout, scalp), mistakes (fomo, revenge), strategies, market regimes, anything you want to slice by.
Then watch the By tag chart. It aggregates avg R per tag across your closed trades and sorts best-to-worst. Your #fomo trades average -1.2R; your #breakout trades average +0.8R. The data tells you what you would never admit to yourself.
Every row has a Share button that generates a 1080×1080 image of that trade — symbol, side, status, big R-multiple, your cumulative-R sparkline with the focus trade marked, your tags, and a small Retired Today brand mark. No email or first name on the card.
